I want to work in the public relations and advertising field, so I originally started college to get a BA in communication, concentration in public relations, minor in marketing.
But I hear that tons of communications majors are struggling to get jobs right now, so I switched to a BBA degree in marketing, just so I have a more solid degree for when times get rough. Can I still get jobs in PR and advertising? They usually want journalism and communication degrees, so I’m afraid I wouldn’t appeal to them anymore.
In a broad sense, marketing includes PR among other things. So you should be able to get a PR job with marketing degree.
