    @BOWENSblog, Rambling?
    We all know the 1984 ad. We all know the Apple brand. He knows what he’s talking about.
    He didn’t mention it in this presentation but beautiful design and amazing products are at the core of great marketing.

    To all the others who consider themselves one of the crazy ones, you may like sjobs.me . Make sure you use the right browser though.
    And I’m not sure, but you should probably wear a black turtleneck and a blue jeans as well ,lol, Anyway, thank you for this video.

    I should have said … at the core of ‘his’ marketing

    At the core of his marketing is beautiful design and amazing products.

    @isycatboy Gates didn’t bring down Microsoft. Microsoft is still very alive… And btw, Steve Ballmer has been running Microsoft since 2000…

    Also, Jobs clearly put Apple back on top. If you can’t see that you must be completely blind…

  6. dchains says:

    today Apple’s message seems to be the opposite of “think different.” Today, the message basically boils down to “conform.” Well, that and “consume.”

  7. Jaggabone says:

    @isycatboy ;
    Get your facts straight. Microsoft is beginning to fall in revenue due to Balmer not Gates. Another Fact Jobs and his team brought Apple from a $4US per share company to a $270US per share in the span of just 10 years. monumental product sales, revitilizing 3 market segments for consumer products and owning all three: portable music players, digital music, and at least in the USA smartphones – until the past quarter in sales they where tops: but what they’ve done is change.

  8. Jaggabone says:

    @elpresidio ; let’s not forget this was Jobs’ work alone, but the help of others in this industry, Larry Elison for one helped Apple on the board, the late Mr. Ford (from IBM/Chrysler CFO), etc.

  9. isycatboy says:

    Apple pretty much steals patents and covers them in eye candy. They don’t ‘bring out’ the newest products, only the media tells you that. Every time they come up with a product another one existed before in cheaper for, all apple does is charge you for engineering and research, but they don’t really need any of that since they already have the patents and ideas years before the product comes out. Cheaper products with th same patents will prevail.

    @megamarsvin I don’t understand the notion that you have to invent every aspect of a product for it to be considered original. The very first MP3 player was original. But it used off-the-shelf parts. They didn’t completely invent a storage system, or a display system, or an audio system. That’s not original.

    What does it matter if he refines things? If his refinements cause them to change they way people do things, isn’t that what’s important? His ‘refinements’ caused the download revolution.

  11. jmadlena says:

    @megamarsvin Also, I have a hard time believing ‘all’ major technological advancements started in the open source community. Even if that’s true, Apple is a good steward in the open source community, contributing and adding to many open source projects.

  12. hyylo says:

    this is sooooo true. milk is not good for the body but the farmers lie to the public to buy it.

    if you dont believe it search youtube for ‘the truth about milk’

  13. palermo131 says:

    @megamarsvin Partly responsible? Partly? Really? I think the world is well aware of what was going on with Apple Computers before Steve came back on board. I think we all know that they wouldn’t even be in business today were it not for Steve. He has never had an original thought about technology? I think you have ventured into total hyperbole, and are thereby indicating that will be no rationalizing with you so, I will cease trying.

    @BOWENSblog
    Ghandi was a racist, who hated blacks. at the time and place it was ok, much like having slaves in the USA at that time. bet you didnt know that did you? if you want to find faults on people its easy. propaganda only works for people who dont think for themself or are blinded by hatred. you seem a little hateful to me. I thought the vid was intresting, nothing really new since ive learned this at school.

    We should learn more and more from jobs…..Really Apple Think Differently

  16. gernijkamp says:

    This video is probably made on September 28, 1997: the day Apple lauched the ‘Think Different’ campaign made by TBWA/Chiat/Day (the same agency which was responsible for the famous ’1984′-commercial). It was about 35° celcius in Cupertino, which explains Steve’s remarkably choice of trousers that day…

  17. TheLarssan says:

    So rare but lovely…

  18. megamarsvin says:

    @palermo131 It’s always fun to see the fanboys get riled up when you say their God isn’t perfect and they take it as a personal insult. No worries lads, I’m sure one day He will bless you with an even shinier, more expensive iPod ;)

  19. lammel says:

    OK, great speech for a business man… but you know? I wouldn’t buy an electronic device just because of its “brand meaning”. I know that there are people who need values and try to find them buying products for a better life, but not me. Sorry, Jobs.

  20. erickratzer says:

    Steve Jobs circa 1997, in his prime and introducing the “Think Different” campaign.

  21. jeff29992001 says:

    Here’s to the crazy ones. The rebels. The troublemakers. The ones who see things differently. While some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.

  22. palermo131 says:

    @megamarsvin You may be surprised to learn that I’ve decided to switch my allegiance away from my old God (Steve Jobs) to you. Yes you! Its clear to me that for all the lives you have improved and joy you bring to others that I have made the unavoidable choice. I feel so daft for having taken so long to come to this illuminated moment. ***bows in slovenly obiecience
    Steve has more capability in his fingernail than you have in the whole of your self-deluded dung-wad excuse for a brain.

  23. mrbraindump says:

    Time for Mac fans will love these archives

  24. dingumfCallofDuty says:

    @palermo131

    I bet you would buy everything Apple.

  25. palermo131 says:

    @dingumfCallofDuty What else should I buy? Apple makes the best of everything they make.
